This temple has a unique structure and become the center of Theravada Buddhist worship up to the moment. Vat Phou has been nominated as the World Heritage Site in 2001. Wat Xieng Thong
This place is a Buddhist temple located on the northern tip of the Luang Phrabang peninsula, Laos. This place is sacred and a key architecture that symbolize art and religion. Wat Xieng Thong was built in 1559 by King Setthathirath in close proximity to the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers. The building of Wat Xieng Thong has carved wooden doors and golden depiction that illustrates scenes from the life of Buddha. In the 1950s until the 1960s massive repairs were made for the damaged temples.
