- 1 shallot (chop it)
- ¼ garlic
- 2 tbs butter
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tbs ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 bay leaf
- ¼ plain yogurt
- 1 cup tomato
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 pinch of black pepper
- 1 tbs peanut oil
- 1 pound boneless chicken
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper
- 1 tbs cornstarch
- ¼ cup water
Steps to cook
After you have all the ingredients, you are ready to make your own Indian butter chicken :
- Heat the oil and then put shallot and onion. Stir fry it until it becomes soft. Add in the butter, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, chili powder, cumin and the bay leaf. Stir well for 1 minute. After that, add the tomato sauce and cook it for 2 minutes. Add the yogurt and stir well. Reduce the heat, and let all the ingredients cooked for 10 minutes. Add the salt pepper and turn off the stove.
- Heat up the oil, add the chicken and cook it until it turns into light brown. Reduce the heat and put the garam masala and cayenne. Stir well and add the sauce that has already been cooked before.
- Mix together the cornstarch and water and stir well. Cook it until it becomes thick.
